Do you struggle with the “Holiday Blues”? A lot of people struggle during the holidays and it can be especially difficult because most people are celebrating and you feel like you “should” be happy and not feeling the way that you do. In today’s episode, we talk about coping with the holiday blues and even finding gratitude in the midst of it.
Although I personally have never struggled with the holiday blues I have struggled with deep depression during our family’s celebrations and special holidays. There is a lot of guilt and frustration that can come from these emotions especially during these times but I invite you to join me in an exercise that will help tremendously.
Today we are talking about inviting gratitude into your Holiday Blues. While you are acknowledging pain, and not pushing it away, you can also invite light to come in. Again, we are not ignoring the pain, we are just allowing the space for gratitude to enter and acknowledge things that are working for us. Although simple, these gratitude practices are SO powerful and can literally transform how you feel.
As 2019 is coming to a close, it is time for us to pause and reflect on everything to be grateful for this year. Take a moment to tune it for a moment and be present and reflect on the year. What are you grateful for today?
We want you to know that you are not alone during this holiday season. We truly care about you and invite you to join us in our private Facebook community, Hope to Recharge. Because as always, together is better.
Topics Discussed:
- The importance of tuning in and reflecting at the end of the year.
- How to feel pain and yet invite gratitude.
- How to create space and be present.
