Today I am coming to you from Jerusalem, Israel. I am spending the holidays with my family which I am so grateful for. We are participating in a few fasts and I wanted to share with you the gratitude that I have found THROUGH the process of fasting.

I am not naturally someone who loves to fast. However, when I was walking through my darkest points in my mental health journey I literally could NOT eat. I realized through this fast how grateful I am that I have the choice now to participate in a fast as opposed to my body rejecting food.

Another thing that I wanted to share with you is how I have been practicing finding gratitude in my frustration. During my travels, it is easy to become agitated over things that are different than what I am used to. However, I want to be grateful even for things that are different or hard.

When we choose gratitude over frustration, our bodies literally change. We also discover that gratitude is a GIFT. It is like a switch that can change everything. It takes a while to practice before it becomes a part of our lifestyle, but once we get a grasp on it…it can be the biggest blessing.

We would love to hear your thoughts on this topic! How are you practicing gratitude? Are you able to find gratitude even in the frustrating times? Connect with us in our private Facebook group: Hope to Recharge. Because as always together is better!
