This week I had the honor of connecting with mobility expert Dr. Jen Esquer about how we can use mobility and fitness to prevent and treat mental health issues. Dr. Jen shares with us about a recent trauma that she endured and how she walked through the pain, allowed space for healing, and ultimately found her truest self through the process.
In this episode, Dr. Jen walks us through her journey of being a young gymnast, to finding a love for mobility, and ultimately sharing her passion very publicly and building a following online. After enduring a betrayal in a relationship, Dr. Jen discovered a new part of the mind/body connection that she had not experienced before, realized the power of her own intuition, and the importance of trusting herself.
Today we talk about how to find your worth and value outside of external circumstances, why it is critical to find community that will hold space for you and not push you through the process of healing and the connection between physical fitness and mental health. Jen even shares with us a few breathing techniques that will help you through panic attacks and anxiety.
